La Liga: Valencia Held to a Goalless Draw by Athletic Bilbao
Valencia were held to a goalless draw by Athletic Bilbao on Saturday in the ninth round of the Spanish La Liga season at Mestalla Stadium.
Neither side managed to score, forcing both teams to settle for a point in a match that offered no goals.
The result leaves Valencia struggling near the bottom of the standings, in 19th place with five points.
Athletic Bilbao, meanwhile, moved to seven points and remained in 11th place in the league table.
Bilbao are scheduled to face Levante away from home on Wednesday in a postponed sixth-round fixture before hosting Getafe on Sunday, October 25, in the tenth round.
Valencia will look to bounce back when they host Villarreal next Saturday as they seek to improve their position in the standings.
